Everybody’s path to Plumstead is different. Whether you heard about us at church or through a friend who attends, the following sections articulate both recommended and required steps in the admissions process.
Contact Admissions
We invite you to call our Director of Admissions, Mrs. Kathy Tacconiif you have any questions about Plumstead Christian School. Through this initial conversation we can answer any questions you have about our school. We would love the opportunity to share with you how your family can benefit from being part of our community of learners. Alternatively, you may send us a completed inquiry form and we’ll reach out to you with additional information that will help inform one of the most important decisions you will make for your children.
Talk to Parents
Our parents have been where you are, and they are eager to share their experience with you as you determine what the best decisions will be for your children. They can share their insight on how they came to their choice, and provide for you the parent’s perspective on all of the details – even down to the bus routes!!
Visit our Campuses
Visit our campuses and you will have a much clearer picture of how we do school. And as you meet teachers and administrators we know that you will sense their high level of commitment and care for students. Prospective students are encouraged to “shadow” our own students for the day – attending classes and participating in all of the activities that our students experience. If you are considering enrolling your elementary school student at Plumstead Christian School, we also recommend that you request a tour of our junior high and high school. We’re one school with a unifying mission, and a tour of the secondary campus will provide you with a clear picture of how well our students mature spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
Apply
Our new student application provides our admissions selection committee with the information necessary to determine proper placement of children and whether the student and the school are a good match. We do not have deadlines for the admissions process, but available spaces for classes beginning in the fall may reach capacity as the spring or summer come to a close.
Parent Interview
We value the partnership that exists between us and our parents. Because of this, we want to meet you as part of the admissions process.
Admissions Testing
For elementary school admission – we test applicants in the areas of math, reading, and writing using end-of-year assessments from the most recently completed grade level. In the event an applicant needs to be tested for admission during the school year, we use assessments that measure the same content areas at a point that is representative of where we are in the school year.
For junior high and high school admission – we test applicants using the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) that is produced by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB). The ISEE measures each applicant’s verbal and quantitative reasoning, reading comprehension and mathematical achievement, and essay writing abilities against how well other independent school admissions applicants from across the country are doing. On occasion other placement testing may be necessary to place students into classes for which there will be a high degree of success.
