We believe that Christian education should be in the reach of every family willing to make the commitment as a step of faith. We also recognize that any number of circumstances could financially hamper a family that wants to attend PCS. And we want to help through a number of unique financing programs and tuition assistance:
Alumni Scholarship: The Alumni Scholarship will be awarded to each NEW student whose parent is a graduate of PCS. The scholarship is a three-year scholarship in the amount of $1,000 per year.
Backyard Scholarship: This scholarship provides financial support and encouragement to deserving families who have demonstrated a commitment to the school and have a sincere desire to continue attending PCS.
Forbearance Program: This program is designed for patron families who are not receiving financial assistance but will experience financial hardship due to tuition increase. Applicants will need to meet certain eligibility requirements by March 30 to qualify for forbearance the following school year. The forbearance amount will be the actual tuition increase between the current school year’s tuition and the prior year’s rate.
Pastoral Discount: In an effort to enhance the valued partnership with our Bible-believing churches, PCS is offering Pastors the opportunity to receive a 50% tuition assistance discount off their families’ full tuition.
Missionary Discount: To recognize and support full-time missionaries who are PCS Association members, PCS is offering missionaries the opportunity to receive a 15% tuition assistance discount in addition to any other discount which the family qualifies for – including financial aid.
Save on next year’s tuition bill by just spending your weekly shopping dollars with stores that participate in the scrip program. You can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars in tuition.
Now, it’s easier than ever to start – and continue — using scrip.
- Plumstead Christian patrons can now start buying scrip gift cards online. Just go to http://www.shopwithscrip.com and order from retailers you’re already using for merchandise, goods and food. Enter PCS enrollment code EL14E7AF125L7. It’s convenient, accurate, and you can track the status of your scrip orders, as well as your purchasing history.
- Even paying for your cards is more simple than ever: If you choose PrestoPayTM the cost of your order will be automatically withdrawn from your checking account.
- And you can reload many of your gift cards. Just go to www.shopwithscrip.com, sign up for Presto Pay. You can quickly reload your card for whatever amount is convenient for you. Shopwithscrip.com plans to add more reloadable cards to its shopping list.
PCS will use 90 percent of the scrip proceeds to benefit those families who participate in the program. And if you’re in a pinch, you can buy Scrip cards for Giant, Redner’s, ShopRite and Landis Food Stores at the Plumstead campus.
New Family Referral Credit
For every NEW family which ENROLLS a child at either campus for the current school year, the referring family of an enrolled student will receive a tuition assistance credit of $500. The referring family may choose to give that credit to the new family as a gift towards their tuition expense. Family Referral Program Form
Needs-Based Tuition Assistance (Finance Based)
PCS’ needs-based financial assistance is designed to assist qualifying families who have sacrificed to make Christian education a priority in their family. Financed through contributions, fundraisers, and the school’s general fund, financial assistance is intended to ease the burden of tuition costs. Following these steps makes the process of applying simple:
2 • Fill out a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS) financial assistance application online through School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS).
3 • Submit a PCS Financial Assistance Application to the Director of Finance in an envelope marked “Financial Assistance.”
The deadline for submission of completed applications to PCS for financial assistance is April 15 of the coming school year. This yearly application is considered confidential, and is reviewed only by the Financial Assistance Committee, which weighs a variety of factors in making its decisions. These include, but are not limited to: family income, number of dependents, family and student participation in a local church, and the willingness of the parents to participate actively in school-related functions.
Incomplete applications will be returned. Falsification of any information will disqualify applicants for financial assistance.
Other financial assistance information: Each award applies only to the months in which a tuition payment is made. A payment made after the 10th of the month is subject to the normal late-fee policy. If a month goes by without a payment, that month will be charged at the regular tuition rate (i.e., the tuition award will not apply for that month). PCS reserves the right to suspend or terminate the financial assistance program at any time with written notification to those recipients who violate or misuse the privileges or policies of the program. The program may also be suspended or terminated at the end of any grading period in the event of a school financial emergency or the depletion of financial assistance funds.
PCS admits students of any race, color, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policy, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
