Family Fun Night

Recyclable Needs

Over the next three weeks, the Lower School will be collecting recyclables to use for an activity at Family Fun Night. Items collected will also replenish the supplies used in STEM classes. Below is a list of the items we are collecting. Items may be sent in anytime between now and February 16.
  • any size cardboard tubes (toilet paper, paper towels, wrapping paper, etc.)
  • empty plastic bottles without lids (20 ounce size or smaller)
  • empty boxes from cereal, granola bars, or other food (any size)
  • empty applesauce cups or fruit cups

March After-school Clubs

The following after-school clubs are available on a “first come, first served” basis, so sign up now! There is a $12.00 activity fee for each club – some clubs may include an extra fee for materials, etc.  You can read the details for all of the clubs HERE.

Pastors’ Luncheon

On Tuesday, March 6th the Lower School will be hosting our annual Pastors’ Luncheon. Young Authors’ Week

This year’s featured author is Dan Gutman, New York Times bestselling author of the Baseball Card Adventure series, the Genius Files series, which has sold more than 1.5 million copies around the world, and the My Weird School series, which has sold more than 10 million copies! You can visit him online at www.dangutman.com. Dan will be speaking with the students through a virtual SKYPE visit on February 27.

Parenting Seminar

What Every 21st Century Parent Should Know: Communicating With Young Children and Redirecting Inappropriate Behaviors

This free seminar, on March 8, is an in-depth presentation on the subject of communicating with children and verbally redirecting inappropriate behaviors. The techniques and strategies are designed to help participants immediately be more successful and effective in their home and classroom. See the seminar flyer for details!

Monthly Meeting with Mrs. Miquel

Meet with the Lower School Principal to share your ideas, suggestions, and concerns. Let’s work together to make Plumstead Christian School even better than it already is! Student Activity Calendar

The American Heart Association recommends that children 2 years and older should participate in at least 60 minutes of enjoyable, moderate-intensity physical activity every day! To encourage each student to reach this goal, he or she can earn a dress down day card each month just for being active. Read the note to parents from our PE instructor for all of the details.  You can also print an Activity Calendar if you need one.

Champs4Parents of preschoolers: Beginning Thursday, September 21, please join us on Thursday mornings for a FREE parent and child(ren) play group.  We meet at our Lower School for fun and fellowship where you and your child(ren) can participate in a playtime consisting of free play from 8:30-9:00, then structured activities from 9:00-10:15 When you arrive, sign-in at the office and then head to room 8 (Pre-K room) to join the fun. To register, please contact Jennifer Weaver at jweaver@plumsteadchristian.org.

Purchase of a personalized, commemorative tile!

Now that we have officially opened our new activity center, we are also going public with our capital campaign, “Building for Excellence.” This campaign focuses on Students of Excellence, Faculty of Excellence, and Facilities of Excellence. Please consider purchasing a personalized, commemorative tile that will be assembled into a beautiful mosaic to be part of the permanent bench located in the foyer of the new Activity Center. This purchase contributes to this capital campaign, demonstrates your support of the school, and inspires others to do the same!

PCS art teacher, Mary DeClerico, will hand-craft each tile complete with a custom inscription (e.g. your family name, “in honor of…,” or “in memory of…”). We are also challenging each graduating class to collect enough money to buy a custom tile to represent their graduating class (e.g. Class of 1985, Class of 2025). We are hoping class reps will spearhead these projects, collect the money, and order the tiles. If we sell more tiles than can fit the bench, the mosaic will expand beyond the bench.

Plumstead Christian School’s Moms in Prayer International prayer meetings are held at our Middle/Upper School MOST 1st and 3rd Tuesdays.  Please check the “UPCOMING EVENTS” at the top of this Plumstead Campus Connection for dates. Please sign-in at the office first when you come to pray. We gather as close to 8:30 AM as possible, then we pray from 8:45-9:45 for our children, our teachers, our staff, our board members, and our school, to impact them for Christ. We gather as close to 8:30 AM as possible, then we pray from 8:45-9:45 for our children, our teachers, our staff, our board members, and our school, to impact them for Christ. Are you an Association Member?

As part of our PCS family, you are eligible to join the Association. As a parent-run organization, the Association serves a vital role in the life of the school. It elects board members who direct and conduct the affairs of the Association.  Meetings are held twice per year to provide an opportunity for members to stay informed and be updated on the business affairs of the school.  Review our Constitution and apply now to join the PCS Association.
